Officially Growing Older

I know that jumping from one place to another for the purpose of studying, with intervals of getting bored and lazy, or extremely occupied with other things that does not concern the intellectual process in between eats up a big part of someone's years.

But biting the fact of getting old fast does not slap you that hard on the face until you are suddenly declared an uncle, and your 'still young' father a GRANDfather.

People are even starting to call me Pak Ngah. Hmm..i hope i will get a family of my own before my new niece does.


She was born at 3.15am on Friday (Malaysian time). Being a bit sick, she hopes that her step-uncles and step-aunts reading this will pray for her health.

Would anyone like to suggest any names? For newborns here in Syria we suggested Nur Evakuasi, Siti Balik Berperingkat or Siti Nur Revolusi. But honestly, i wouldn't use them myself.

Maybe Ballus Soda would be better, as the mother, my sister, is Qatrun Nada - Qatrun Nada wa Ballus Soda is the name of a famous Kitab Nahu. Qatrun Nada means 'a drop of dew', and Ballus Soda, if i'm not mistaken, means 'that which quenches the thirst'.

Thus hand in hand, the daughter and mother would complement one another.

Or what about Ulin Nuha - 'those that think' - as mentioned in Surah Thaha?

Eleven Al-Fatihah's from divine Syam for anyone who suggests a suitable name for her..
